Roles of the Section:
- Participation in the recruitment of researchers (review of applications, interviews, eligibility committees/juries).
- Evaluation and career monitoring of researchers.
- Issuing opinions on researchers’ promotion applications.
- Issuing opinions on the creation, renewal, and closure of research units and research support structures.
- Analysis of trends in the disciplinary field, leading to the publication every five years of a “State of the Field Report” (rapport de conjoncture).
- Providing expert advice at the request of the management of the CNRS Biology Institute.
- Participation in HCERES evaluations for units affiliated with the section.
- Participation in the allocation of RIPEC research bonuses.
The section is fully aligned with CNRS commitments to open science, gender equality, sustainable development, and the inclusion of people with disabilities.
